Jessica Dotta

Jessica Dotta has earned the right to wear the title of: Social Media Specialist, Consultant, Publicist, Brand Manager, Editor, Writer, Social Activist, and Business Manager. But the only titles that matter to her are: Called – Redeemed – Beloved – Known by the Father –Daughter – Accepted. . . and Mom.

The most humble and worthy person she ever encountered lived in near obscurity—but sent ripples of change into the world, all because he took the time to care about each hurting person he met. He wasn’t Jesus, but he followed the Great Shepherd and left a legacy. She wants to follow that path.

You can find her on:

She writes British Historical. Her debut novel Born of Persuasion (Tyndale House Publishers) is due out 2013.

What's on my ipod:

5.9 days of solid listening in my iTunes. I have songs from nearly every genre, but my top played songs include Bebo Normas, Misty Edwards, David Brymer, Train, The Fray, Evanescence and Matter Music.

My favorite books:

Jane Eyre (actually anything by the Bronte sisters), Pride and Prejudice (ditto for all Jane Austen books,) Gone With the Wind, The Lord of Rings, To Kill A Mocking Bird, Watership Down, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, Mary Reilly, Year of Wonders, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Sherlock Holmes

My favorite memory:

Once, while listening to radio while I worked on a PR campaign, the talk show hosts told their listeners about a new M&M store that opened in Time Square in New York just in time for Christmas. For some reason it caught my interest, and I said aloud to God, "You know, I'd really like to see that." And then I promptly forgot about that prayer.

That afternoon, there was a book party in NYC that the firm I worked for decided to attend. To make full use of our time, we booked meetings with producers and flew out. Two days later we were on Time Square and we saw the M&M store. The moment I stepped inside, I remember the prayer with the realization that for reasons of His own, God had decided to answer it.

What I do in my free time:

When I have some, I'll let you know!
